Named after the Dorset poet and novelist ‘Thomas Hardy’. The fairway is dominated by a large pit to the centre/left though some big hitters may decide to go over the pit. The fairway leads to the right of the pit but the further right you go the more you bring the large right-hand greenside bunker into play on the second shot. A great hole from the white tees.
Pro's Tip
Check the wind before walking up to the tee which is sheltered by an avenue of trees. Its direction will have a bearing upon your strategy and where you aim. If you end up in the pit, don’t lose hope – plenty have saved par before you.
