Hole No.16 “Slingers”

Another wonderful view from this tee. The hole is named after Thomas Hardy’s name for Portland, ‘The Isle of Slingers’; owing to the fact that Portlanders used to throw stones to keep Kimberlins (strangers) away. A blind tee shot needs to be confidently struck to set up a downhill approach to a sloping green, sat in the corner of the course and framed by two roads.

Pro's Tip
The trickiest green on the course. Don’t miss the green left - the grass grows against you, making an up and down all but impossible. A tough hole and par is a real bonus.
