Named after the largest Iron Age hill fort in Europe which sits just 2 miles south of Dorchester and covers an area of 47 acres. ‘Maiden’ derives from the Celtic ‘Mai Dun’ which means ‘great hill’. A blind, but straightforward tee shot sets you up for the approach which is a feature of the course – played from above to a green sunken into a side slope below. It will take a good approach to get your ball close.
Pro's Tip
Don’t be fooled in to thinking the bank on the left can be used to bounce your ball in. The grass is usually left just long enough to stop your ball and leave a tricky downhill chip.
