Welcoming Families to Came Down Golf Club
Golf is a sport that can be enjoyed by all ages and abilities, offering an ideal opportunity to socialise and build relationships whilst improving skills and getting the steps in (plenty of them!).
What better way to get the whole family together and create lifelong memories?
Whether you’d like to play golf as visitors, enrol the kids in lessons, or become members, we look forward to welcoming you to Came Down.
Why play golf as a family?
Enjoy quality time and get active together
With hectic work and school schedules and various social events, it can be tough to find opportunities to spend time together as a whole family. Playing a round of golf is a fun activity for everyone to enjoy whilst getting active and creating memories.
You’ll walk around 2.5 miles every nine holes and by walking for the entire game, you can spend more quality time bonding.
For further socialising for both kids and adults, why not play alongside other families?
Appreciate nature and the outdoors
Playing golf as a family is a brilliant way to encourage children and teenagers to appreciate the great outdoors and for everyone to have a break from screens and technology.
When playing at Came Down, you’ll be treated to spectacular 360-degree views of Dorset’s rolling hills and the beautiful Portland Harbour, famous globally for hosting the sailing events of the 2012 Olympic Games.
Located in the heart of Thomas Hardy’s Wessex, the surrounding areas feature in many of his well-known works.
Why not play “How many animals can you spot?” with the kids? We are lucky to see a variety of wildlife around the course, including Sika deer and hares.
Teach valuable lessons (as well as golf skills!)
Golf can be a lengthy and skilled game that requires patience and good etiquette.
As well as perfecting the golf swing, the golf course provides a great environment for children to learn important life skills, such as discipline, honesty, respect, fairness and the ability to overcome challenges.
Suitable for anyone
From the youngest children to grandparents, golf is a sport that can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of age and skill level. We have golf buggies available to hire if needed.
