10 ways to celebrate Golf Month
Never played golf before but always wondered if you’d enjoy it? Well, there’s no better month to give it a go! From starting lessons or practising your swing, to investing in shiny new gear or getting competitive with family and friends, there’s plenty of ways to honour the great game this Golf Month.
We’ve teed up 10 ideas to take a shot at:
1. Have fun playing golf with friends and family
Playing golf is a brilliant family bonding experience. Teach your kids how to play or get them a few lessons. Post-game, head to our Clubhouse for lunch and panoramic views of glorious Dorset countryside.
Mini golf is also a fun way to get competitive with family or friends whilst practising short game shots. There are a number of places to enjoy mini golf across Dorset, including Mr Mulligans in Bournemouth and Weymouth Pirate Adventure Mini Golf.
2. Show your clubs and equipment some TLC
Have you been putting off cleaning your golf gear? Now’s the time!
You can get the dirt out of the grooves of irons, hybrids and woods with a brush tool and a soapy solution. Clean your grips with a brush tool and a powder cleaner. Dry thoroughly with a towel.
3. Have a lesson and improve your technique
Practise makes perfect! Whether you’re new to the game or you’re looking to refine your skills, our PGA professionals can teach you all you need to know. At our Academy we’ll start with the fundamentals of grip, stance, posture and alignment.Learn the basics by signing up to an hour induction and see if golf is the game for you.
Sean Dimmick, our Assistant PGA Professional also runs 1-1 and group golf lessons sessions.
