After two years at Came Down, Club President Mike Ratsey wishes outgoing General Manager Matt Fletcher farewell. Matt is seen receiving a card containing a contribution from members, grateful for all that Matt had done for Came Down since joining from Canford Golf Club in 2016.
Replacing him is present club golf professional Nick Rodgers. Nick will retain his golf teaching duties but will take on the role of General Manager as well. Nick will be joining his wife Lisa who already works in the office at Came Down.
As part of the new look at Came Down the pro shop team is being strengthened with the appointment of PGA trainee Sean Dimmick. Sean grew up playing golf locally and following 18 months at Darren Clarke’s golf school near Dublin (where he achieved a handicap of “plus 1”) he joined the professional ranks.
Mike commented “The changes at Came Down mark a real step forward. Nick has huge knowledge of golf and golfers at the Club having been the professional here for the last 20 years. As part of their qualification modern golf professionals are well versed in management skills and the Club recognised the logical step of promoting Nick when Matt decided to move on. We all wish him, Lisa and Sean well in the years ahead”
Nick added “This is a new opportunity at one of Dorset’s oldest and best golf clubs. We are always looking to attract new members and have a variety of memberships designed to appeal not just to existing golfers but also those new to the game who are looking to get started at a friendly, welcoming club. If you are interested, give me a ring on 01305 813494. You will get a real welcome”
