It has been both an enjoyable and busy month at Came Down Golf Club, with  the sun finally deciding to shine down on us.

The June stableford took place on Saturday the 2nd with over 100 players playing in testing conditions.  Division 1 was won by Jeb Gay [9]with 40 points, second went to Brian Hansford [5] who beat Paul Gay [9] on count back with both players scoring 38 points.

Division 2 was won by Barry McSherry [15] with 36 points, second place went to Kevin Singleton [13] who narrowly beat Eric Nottley on count back both with 34 points.  Division 3 was won by Mike Stopforth [20] with 35 points, second was Andy Symms [21]  third place went to Andrew Leitch who lost out on count back with both players scoring 33 points.

 The June Medal took place  on Sunday the 17th  with only 78 players playing, mainly due to 3 club matches being played at the same time. Mike Ford 75/7/68 won division 1, Tony Howe 78/8/70 was second. Third place went to Gary Jessup 76/6/70 who lost out on count back.   Division 2 was won by Ian Sibley 84/13/71. Second  went to Charlie McIntyre 88/17/71, third place went to David Keys 89/18/71 with all three being separated by count back.  Len Fletcher 88/19/69 took the win in division 3, second place went to Mark Singleton 96/26/70  and third place went to  Ron Osborne 95/24/71.

 The mid week stableford was played on Friday 31st moving from its normal spot to make way for the seniors championship. Division one  was won by Tim Old [12] with  a great 41 points, second place went to Alan Stickley [5] with 39 points and third went to Jim Stewart [8] with 37 points. Division two was won by Peter Stopforth [14] who beat Mick Gardner [14] on count back with both players scoring 35 points. Third place went to Ian Hartley [14] with 34 points. Division 3 was won by Jake Kerslake  with 36 points, Trevor Prior [26] was second narrowly beating Len Fletcher [19] on count back both scoring 32 points.

 The Hardy A team have been in action as well, losing to Isle of Purbeck at home 3 to 5. The Hardy B team played two matches in July both of which were away. The first at Canford school resulting in a 4-1 victory and the second at

Wareham resulting in a 4.5 -0.5 defeat.

 Finally congratulations to Brian Hansford on winning the seniors club championship.
