This month has seen more rain than normal at Came Down Golf Club, but with the

Glastonbury music festival and Wimbledon tennis tournament about to start we should not be really surprised !!


The June medal took place on Saturday the 4th with over 130 players playing in testing conditions.  Division 1 was won by Andy King 77/12/65, second went to Mark  Stickley 70/4/66 and third place went to a current club champion Leigh Cornick 71/4/67.


Division 2 was won by Matt Green 80/14/66, second place went to Shaun Whitefield 86/18/68 who narrowly beat Roger Pike 82/14/68 on count back.  Division 3 was won by Len Fletcher 88/20/68, second was George Townsend 89/20/69, third place went to Les Gardner 93/24/69 who lost out on count back.


The June stableford took place in wet conditions on Sunday the 19th  with only 70 players braving the rain. Matt Hawke[12] won division 1 with 37 points, Tony Brant[6]was second with 36 points Third place went Robbie Rolls [4] with 35 points.   Division 2 was won by Ben Tyrell [14] with 37 points. Second  went to Baz Dennis [15] with 36 points, third place went to Anthony Membury [18] with 34 points.  Tim Emerton [21] took the win in division 3 with 35 points, narrowly beating Andrew Leitch [20] on count back and third place went to Nigel Dewland [21] with 34 points.


The mid week stableford was played on Thursday 16th, once again the heavens opened and many players chose not to play. The field was so small it was reduced to one division.  First  place went to Andy Peel [15] with 40 points, second place went David Keys [18] with 39 points and third went to Jim Stewart [8] with 36 points.


The Hardy A team have been in action as well, beating Bridport at home 5.5 to 2.5. The Hardy B team take on Knighton Heath next weekend and are looking to cement their place at the top of their division with another victory.
